About Us

Friendship Village School is the quintessential little red schoolhouse that serves the families of this scenic working town that is surrounded by the waters of Muscongus Bay.

Friendship is a Kindergarten-6th-grade elementary school with about 85 students. Students enjoy small class sizes with a staff dedicated to their educational and personal growth needs. We have 7 full-time classroom teachers and itinerant staff for art, music, and physical education shared with two other schools in the district.

Our teachers work as district grade-level teams in professional learning communities. A guaranteed and viable curriculum is under development using the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework. The Response to Intervention (RtI) process is in place to better meet students’ needs by using data to inform instruction and improve student learning. As a school and a district, we take part in regular meetings with classroom, special education teachers, and interventionists to find strategies and ways to improve instruction for students.

We have high expectations for students to meet district and state standards. In order for this to occur, we work diligently to support students where they need help. We also are teaching students to take responsibility for their learning. With home and school working as a team, we position ourselves to reach our goals for all students to learn and grow as individuals.
